What Mental Hum is
Mental Hum is a reading list, not a publisher. It gathers headlines and summaries from the public feeds of trusted outlets and links every story to the original source. The reporting belongs to the people who did it, and each outlet holds the rights to its own work.
Not medical advice
Everything in this app is for information and understanding. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows you. Decisions about your health belong in a conversation with a clinician.
Not a crisis service
The Urgent Help page lists independent crisis services and their contact details as a convenience. Mental Hum does not operate any of them and cannot guarantee their availability. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number.
External content
Stories, resources, and links lead to websites we do not control. Outlets change, move, and remove their own content · the app cannot promise any particular story or resource stays available, accurate, or unchanged.
The wire and the filters
The app's editorial rules · which wires it reads and which stories it leaves out · are applied automatically and imperfectly. A story appearing here is not an endorsement, and a story missing here is not a judgment of the outlet.
Typefaces and licences
DM Sans and OpenDyslexic are bundled under the SIL Open Font License. Iowan Old Style and Menlo ship with iOS. Full licence texts travel inside the app · see Licences.
No warranty
The app is provided as it is, free, in the hope that it is useful. To the fullest extent the law allows, no warranty comes with it.
