Behavioral activation is the part of CBT for depression that often does the most work: scheduling small, values-aligned actions and noticing what happens. The Centre for Clinical Interventions in Western Australia produces some of the best free CBT workbooks in English.
Their depression workbook is a usable self-help adaptation of the modality, free, and appropriate for trying alongside (not instead of) treatment.
